dirt

so not enough people read this blog to give me advice. DAMMIT!

i want to add, grow show dirt to my lasagana mulch beds. not sure whre to add it?
on topp to sew rye into?
that sounds ok but i am out of presious compost to mix it with

not even sure if it has a place in this new age.
just an old habit of collecting soil.

help!

heya blu: put the dirt on top and plant into it.. the plants help speed up the decomposition of the rest of the bed. I've used as little as a couple shovelfuls of dirt on a large lasagna style bed.. and gotten some results.. just takes longer with less soil or active compost in the mix. sometimes, If I only have a couple chovelfuls. I will put them spaced evenly over the top of the bed and plant squash into each shovelfull.. they really seem to speed up the decomposition.
